Curious on who else is going and if anyone is camping and if so where. We got drawn got area 3 and know absolutely nothing about this place any help appriciated thanks

I live close to there. I would recommend you go scout it out, find a thicket and plan to stay put all day on stand. The whole park is good for deer and the ravines help funnel the deer.

The deer will move to the thick cover once the hunters get up and moving.

Day 1 will have many more hunters than day 2.

Turkey run inn will be open and you could stay there. Don't believe shades allows camping during the hunts...

I shot two deer during my hunt there years back, it was a chore to get them out.... shot one each day, and it took a few hours to get each out even using a cart on one, and floating one down the river......I went way back in, that is what happens when you try to get away from the other hunters.... it was worth the effort IMO ... I slept in my truck....

We actually just put our camper in a farm field when we went. Our section was right where 234 makes a 90 degree turn and goes north. On the NE side of the park. The farmer lives right there and gave us permission, it was nice. We didnt kill a deer saw a couple but that was it. Be prepared for long drags up and down hills if you do get one.

Several years ago first day hunted east of SR234 (assigned area, not my choice) rough terrain and no deer seen or harvested. Second day hunted stand near power line right of way behind campground. Saw one and was too far away for shot. The far west entry areas produced deer that year. Good luck.
