Assuming the stand is NOT on your property, why not leave the note just on your side of the fence facing their stand for them to see?

Would you want someone stomping around your stand then climbing in to leave a note for you for you to call them to "review the rules"?

A trespassing charge seems very unlikely if you did step over to leave the note, but the golden rule seems to apply here.

Good communication is the key here. Doing exactly what you expect/hope they don't do is not the way to open the dialogue.
