You can walk MILES and not find one, you can go out and find a half dozen in an hour....they are like looking for that needle in a haystack....sounds like you have the right idea, I'll walk trails, bedding areas, open grassy fields, area that have pines/evergreens, fence crossings, where they jump over....I'll put in dozens of miles every year, but up here where I'm at there are a LOT of others that look for 'em too...I dont have the time I used to, others I know do, one guys I know has already found a handful, but he has the time......my largest is a 79+ incher 5 pt right side....never did find the left, I went over every inch of that ground for a few hundred acres and went back for 2 weeks looking...who knows where that other side went...
