Was pretty excited leading up to this weekend. Was seeing deer, fortunate enough to get one early in bow season. Last weekend the chase was on, saw 12 deer Saturday and 7 on Sunday. Watching the weather, cold temps were hangin around, wind wasn't blowing 100 mph, setting up to be a great opener.
Me and my buddy meet at our spot at 6:15, wish each other luck and head out. Get to my stand and WA-LA no stand!! jus then my buddy calls me and says my (bleeping) stand is gone!! We have hunted this spot for 4 yrs now with no problems.. Sooo, we would like to thank the piece of excrement who stole our stands. You must have needed them more than us. I just hope you are using them to feed your family or help the needy, and didn't just steal from us for financial ( I'm sure at a discounted rate)gain. And would like to remind this person, Karma is a bitch!!
We put up new stands and will be out in the am. I am just as excited, with the temps staying low and a chance of snow tonight.

Sorry for the rant fellas!

Fuzz

that stinks. Chained up??

I won't leave a stand or cam in the woods if it is not locked down. This is on properties I have the only permission on too.

Feel your pain. About 10 years ago I hunted from a stand the evening before opening day and returned the next morning for the shotgun opener to find stands gone. Scary to think who was watching me. These were on private property with chains and locks

Huntin is not a matter of life and death, its more important than that

Me personally, down about 10 stands in the last 8 years and have lost one great tree that two years in a row had the base shot up while shooting off my cable. Not sure what goes through some peoples minds, can't comprehend that kind of ignorance. 29.99 Menards specials are the only thing I put up anymore.
Never had that kind of disappointment on opening day, feel for you, but keep at it, don't let the scumbags win.

76, No, No chains. I used to use the cable locks, but I found one laying at the base of my tree, that was cut off. Never thought of chains. I will be adding some to the stands.

It really bums me out that we as hunters need to spend the extra cash to secure our property.

Too bad that people can't just be descent human beings and 1. not trespass and 2.don't steal from fellow hunters. But I suppose we were all raised differently and hold different values.

I was always taught that the definition of integrity, is doing the right thing even when people aren't looking. And that it takes you your whole life to build your character and 5 seconds to ruin it.

Happy hunting fellas and thanks for the kind words!
