Magnum hunter OP Hoosier Hunter M Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 1,035 Randolph County	BZEB and I hunted Splinter Ridge with no luck of deer Saturday morning or night. But, Sunday morning we decided we would hit the spot again. Got up in the stand probably around 7:05 maybe, and seen the deer about an hour into the hunt. BZEB spotted the deer at about 75 - 80 yards. The deer came in to about 30 - 35 yards and I took a shot with the .44 magnum rifle. The deer took of a ways down the right ridge. After about 20 minutes of trying to find some blood I finally found her about 15 yards from my right shoulder. I shot her through a lung and in the guts...very smelly, but SO exciting! Hopefully this will be the first of many. I owe it all to Zeb, Joe, Bill, Brian, Luke. "The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I realize, the less I know."

I must say...that down there it is very steep and getting that deer up hill a ways and then getting it down hill took some effort. But, climbing up and down the steep ridge to get to the stand location paid off. Very happy with my deer and will be memorable! "The more I live, the more I learn.
