have my first batch of jerky curing in the frig. plan on cooking in the oven tomorrow. does anyone have any tips for this?
life is over when your dead until then you have more pain in store so take it like a man and give some back!

Keep the temp around 175 to 200 or so and alternate oven door open and closed. After several hours, maybe 3 or 4, it should be done. Then cool the jerky down and store in. freezer or fridge. Room temp for serving will give the most flavor.

First batch turned out great! Have several more ready to go. Thanks for the tips...I did crack the oven door for the duration.
This morning the kids were getting their lunches ready both of them had baggies full of fresh venison jerky!

How long will jerky last once you make it? I made some put it in a freezer bag and stuck it in the frig. I then went on vacation and then forgot about it till the other night. It is about 2 months old.

If it was cured correctly, should last several months.
