Have a Rhino in my new truck. Thinking of trying a Line-X on the hunting/play truck. I have heard it wears better. I am going to have it applied to the rocker panels and bed. I don't want to paint it only to have the mud and rocks ruin it in a couple of months. I like the looks of the liners around the bottom. Anyway, has anyone done this? Rhino or Line-X? Pictures if you have any. Thanks.

I'm on my second Line-X truck. I'll put it in my next dozen as well, it's that good!!!

Mine's just the bed and above the rails, (not the rocker panels!). It's hauled concrete chunks, metal scrap, all sorts of sharp stuff and never put a nick in it. Lifetime warranty as well. I've nearly busted kneecaps climbing into buddy's trucks in the rain and slipping on thier wet Rhino, with my LX it's not a problem at all.

Had both of mine done on the west side of indy (10th & Raceway area) and am a VERY satisfied customer.

Thanks guys. Hey stubbleducker is that Millenium at 10th and Raceway. I called them for a quote and they seemed to know what they were talking about. Some of the places I called took 10 minutes to quote. Those guys had it down. Even the price for the rocker panels. I work just west of downtown so I think that is where I'll end up. My Rhino has a couple of nicks in it. One from a hunk of steel and the other from a pitchfork.

I believe that's them. They used to be on CountryClub around 16th when I had my first one done. They're on the SE corner of the intersection. Without digging up the receipt, I'm thinking my 6' bed and rails was around $430-ish. I dropped it off at lunch and picked it up after work, piece of cake. Also, I'm pretty sure it's a lifetime warranty against pitchfork gouges.

If you're a member of the refuge forums (refugeforum.com), there's a guy in Angola that does it cheaper but there's the hassle of getting it up there.

While on this topic, I'm looking at doing the same, but was thinking more so for Rhino as that's all I've been exposed to. What is the main difference, and a good price estimate for either or? Info would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hey loadedgun, I have had both rhino and linex. I had a ton of issues with constantly having the rhino repaired. I have yet to have any issues with the linex. I use the truck the same, so I have to think that the linex holds up better.

The linex was a little cheaper for me.

As for the difference, I would have a clue how they differ; I am sure that each has their own chemical blend that they use.

Those of you that have a Linex. Do they ask you if they can put the sticker in your back window before they do?

On both of mine, they just stuck in on without asking... however, it's not a "sticky" sticker, it's one of those that comes right off (like the Colts stuff on everybody's cars).

Thanks. I got a quote of $500 for over the rails on an 8' bed. Another $350 - $400 for the rocker panels. Loaded gun. My rhino cost me $450 over the rails on an 8' bed, but that was supposed to be at a discount for going through a GM dealer. I haven't tried the Linex yet, but I can attest to having spots in the Rhino. They will fix it for free. Still a hassle to take it back. I'm giving Linex a chance on this project. Can't wait till it's done.

I seen some new stuff on a 4X4 show on TV last night. It's called Crystaliner and it's clear. No issues with matching color. Supposed to be 100% protective against UV inlike Rhino and LX. Stuff looked really nice. Their website is www.clearbedliner.com

DUNN I would highly recommend Millenium Linings those guys know there stuff I have known them for several years and they will ttreat you right. If you don't want the sticker on your window just tell JAY (owner) or Linda that you don't want it they have done it for me in the past. Yes they use to be on Country Club but moved to 10th street about 3-4 years ago

Thanks for all the info guys. After doing some research, I've decided on the Line-X. I got quoted for the exact same price, and everything I've read about it on the net says great things. Can't beat a lifetime warranty.

Hey Dunn- To me, 350-400 seems awful expensive for just the rocker panels, when compared to the overall price of just the bed. What am I missing that makes the price so high? Anyone else get their rocker panels done? I might just get it all done at once when I go in next week. Thanks again for all the info......

I thought the same thing. They talked like it took a lot of time to mask off. I should clarify that this is all the way around. Doors and all. Up about 12 inches. Maybe tough with the clearance around the doors too. Trying to decide if I want to cover the rear bumper as well. Gotta be cheaper than a new bumper.

I did it myself on my old Jeep Wagoneer. I think it was Duplicolor brand. I masked it off from the side moldings down, about 12". It looked very good and wore very well, but we're talking a 20 yr old vehicle. It might be worth paying for some of the nicer stuff on a newer vehicle.
