Havent posted much in the last couple of years, but i guess that is what happens when you grow up and have kids and wife and career. anyway, wanted to share my weekend. Friday buck from Martin County Indiana. This guy followed a doe in and they proceeded to hang within 60 yards of my stand. It was pretty amazing to watch, she moved, he moved, she stood and ate, he stood and watched. about 15 yards from here the whole time. then two little bucks came chasing another doe in, and he quickly proceeded to run them off, then right back to just standing and staring at the doe he was with. I was on the outside of about a 2 acre thicket where we had done a bunch of cutting about 7 years ago, and he then became intent on keeping her in thicket. She would start to walk off, and he would cut her off and push her back toward thicket. finally after 40 minutes, they walked within bow range. from the stand: where he died ![[Linked Image]](http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o487/jalexrang/IMG_6101_zpsreamlvps.jpg)

Saturday and Sunday hunted a farm i have permission on in Illinois. I first saw this guy at about 70 yards, and just saw all the points, then he quickly disappeared. immediately after, a doe walked out of the brush about 15 yards under my stand, and i knew he was going to follow. I had seen the forked G3 and 5 points on the left, and knew it was going to be a quick shot opportunity. She walked back into brush and he appeared in my window. I assumed, due to all the points, this guy was bigger than he ended up being. but I believe he is a 2.5 year old. it just goes to show how difficult field judging can be when given but a few seconds. Regardless, I accomplished a goal of two archery bucks in two states in one year. headed back up to Martin County tomorrow evening to spend the rest of the week with my old man and a good buddy. Good luck to everyone. ![[Linked Image]](http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o487/jalexrang/IMG_6145%201_zpss3hswi4b.jpg)

Congrats on two fine bucks and a great story
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
