Got all settled in opening morning, and just as it starts cracking light we can see 2 deer coming down the field edge from the east, headed straight to us. I could make out that one was a doe and the other a nice buck. They get to about 80 yards and the doe starts feeding, as the buck stands guard not 10 yards from her watching her every move. She would take a step, and he would take a step. They were almost in sync with each other. This whole time the buck is facing straight on to us, and I wasn't letting Hunter take that shot. We just watched and waited as the minutes (that seemed like hours) passed for a chance at a nice broadside shot. As she fed, she was gradually working her way to where she would eventually walk past us, so we waited. All of the sudden the doe throws her tail up and runs right down in front of us and stops at about 45 yards, and when he stopped he was standing broadside just behind her. Hunter took careful aim and touched it off, sending the buck on about a 40 yard death run. The Barnes Expander had center punched his heart. To say Hunter was excited would be an understatement. The boy was a an emotional mess for about 10 minutes afterward. After a bunch of hugs and a few tears, we went to find his prize and this is what we found..... SO PROUD OF MY BOYS!!!!! ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/big70chevy/Hunter/Hunter4_zpsfc22d726.jpg)

. [/b]Nope, he won't fall for that one anytime soon... ... The boys love eating their deer. Whenever they see steaks laying out thawing, they ask "Whose deer are they from?? Are they from mine???"... Ended up with 76 pounds of bone free meat from Hunter's deer. When we went to pick it up, we had to use 2 coolers. I grabbed one and headed to the truck and was going to go back for the other one. When I got to the truck I looked back and Hunter was toting the other one. He was about 5 different shades of red and grunting with each step, but he was so excited about getting his meat back that he packed it out all on his own.
