arlowe13 OP Hoosier Hunter A Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 407 Independence, KY	My dad calls me last night out of breath and stuttering saying he just shot a giant that he had to watch for 45 minutes before coming into range. I had seen this deer a couple weeks ago and knew that I had a picture of him from last year (he made some significant growth). He was still half in velvet, but had no apparent injuries to the jewels. I have another buck on trail cam from last week that was still half in velvet. Pretty sure this is him from last year From Indianapolis, IN Live in Independence, KY Hunt in Vevay, IN

I got to put my hands on it Friday night shortly after it came in contact with a broadhead. The deer is about 75% in velvet and the antlers are "hard". There is an obvious lack of testestrone in this buck, velvet still on, he has no indication of a swollen neck and his hocks were snow white. The deer is at least 3 1/2 and his live weight may have been 160#. I am NOT degrading this deer in any way.... it is an anomoly, given the chance I would have shot it in a second. I had the opportunity to hold a true ...... "once in a lifetime buck". Thanks Eric!!!! When science meets tradition there will be sparks.....
