Sounds like you guys need to get together for coffee and drive around together and see what you can see. Remember, its just deer and its really not that important to get all cranked up on.

Your lease is at the corner of county line road and burdik road. This is not the fourth deer in one year. I said it's the third time in my house this has happened. I said by buddy hit one the other night. There were 50 deer in the field on the north side of the road across from your lease just south of the new pipeline. It was around 8:30 pm when I saw them. They were in both fields on the curve. My point is u are full of .... There are deer everywhere in this area and people like myself and my family that are constantly having damage done to property because of it. While u spew your blaa blaa blaa, puff out your chest and talk louder then everyone else because they don't agree with u. Your nothing more then a bully that threats to "kick people in the nards" In addition u pay $200 a year for a lease...think about that everyone that reads this...$200 a year...then want to pass judgement on and tell people who OWN and have paid $100,000's...pay taxes...pay insurance...what they should shoot and what they should not shoot. Call them brown and downers while we play dodgeball at deer running in the roads. Then come on forms like this and complain that all the deer r gone because people are shooting to many does. Since we r calling out...why did u shoot 4 deer this year..u have a family? I already know the answer. Why do u need 4 deer? Not that I care what u shoot but u r the complaining about no deer. Point is u don't speak for everyone....and since I know first hand that you are not giving a true representation of the situation in this area I'm speaking out

8:30 pm is waaaay past dark...you must have night vision to count 50. nice try.......there quite a few more that believe the situation in this state(and area) when it comes to seeing declining herd numbers.. .... I just dont lie about what I see....btw, the 3 of the 4 deer you talk about didnt come off of where I regularly hunt... 2 were off of "special draw" hunts....gettin' a little upset arnt ya cboy.....

I'm a little upset that I have to repair another vehicle because of a deer collision. Yes 8:30 it's dark the ground is covered in snow and the moon is out with no clouds...pretty easy to see deer feeding in the field. And the special draw at Reynolds creek is the same area as your lease.

I'm really trying to understand this debate on lower deer numbers, shooting does, following the DNR suggestions. There has been 4-5 subjects on this forum talking about low deer numbers and what hunters should b doing. I want to do what's best and am trying to understand it. The situation where I live is not that there are no deer. There r plenty of deer. To the point that at times while driving in this area u will have multiple occurrences of getting into an accident with a deer. Not saying that there are not areas where deer numbers are down but I don't see it in this area.

There may be deer left in pockets, which there are. There are still deer around the place and yours, but in much lower numbers...no one on here is saying there arnt deer...the problem lays in the declining numbers, which I agree is what the DNR wants... we as a group were 'prolly spoiled back in the mid 2000's/late 90's with the numbers and the maturity of the deer present....those who have large tracks of land or combined land can more or less control what they have, high antlerless tags or not. When you start to get into the smaller tracks that we have around us(N. Porter Co) it is harder to do that unless the neighbors agree to a management program. There are those who are now realizing there isnt an infinite number of deer and we cant continue to shoot does at whim, esp if neighbors shoot a high number also. Ive said it before, for every Doe killed, 3 are killed(the Doe and possibly two offspring). Does generally drop on a 1:1 ratio, 1 buck, 1 female. They are considered part of the "herd" when they are recruited. Recruitment is the number of fawns per adult Doe alive come the prefall hunt dates...basically, it is the number of fawns making it to 6 months of age... Now, not all fawns will make it, this we know. But when more and more does are being taken and then combine natural mortality, it becomes clear there will be less deer for us hunters.....all I can say for myself and my buddy is that we are voluntarily backing off the does and I would hope others would do the same...take what you need, but dont go overboard....
