Well it figures when a deer lives near a busy road he probably has a better chance of being hit by a car then hit by a hunters bullet.
Just down from my house there are two road killed bucks less than 150yds apart. One with his noggin cut off and the other appears he has shed at first glance. I couldn't tell if it was cut though or from force off impact they came off. I May stop to look later today. Both were refuge deer and big bodied. Pedicals on the one were good sized.

And BTW, how much QDMA was going on in 1940 in Ohio? [/b]Actually quite a bit/extensive Quality Deer Management (QDMA) was in place in Ohio in 1940. You weren't allowed to hunt deer in Ohio till 1943. Amazing what happens to deer when you allow them to get older isn't it 76chevy..... And for the record.......this deer was deemed hit by a train...not a car.

Me and dad found 3 dead bucks in the refuge this weekend. Were ask and a half old little ones. A 4, 6 and 9 point . Just flesh eaten skeletons was all that was left. Guess people are loosing a lot of them in there. Found a dead turkey and coyote in there too.
A spike today, a trophy tomorrow...
