ISO of youth deer gun: .410 slug, .357, .44, .45LC or ?
Just looking for basic youth break action single shot with a scope or at least already tapped for a mount...or...
...if someone has a price I just cannot pass up on a Taurus/Rossi Circuit Judge .45LC/.410
Lake, Porter, Parke or Vigo County preferred or possibly along the route between the two areas.

Shameless bump.
Looking for one now so the nephew can get plenty of trigger time through the summer and be well prepared by the time the season rolls around.
Now expanding area to include counties surrounding Lake and counties surrounding Vigo and anywhere along route between the two, or if seller is willing to travel to meet within those areas.

I really didn't think it'd be this difficult. Nothing out there? Any leads? Seen one at a local gun shop lately?

l as well don't want to steal your thread, just a thought as to what l have done with two of my grand kids. l bought one a Mossburg Bantom 20 ga. Has three chokes and a scope mount. I started them shooting low brass 8 shot, less recoil, high brass a bump up in recoil, then slugs .One was 11 years and one 14. They have both been shooting some of my guns for ever. Started on a .22 rifle, .22 hand gun, 38,.9MM, ,45. Got a ,22/410 Rossi bag type gun. Didn't want to get that .410 scoped out. The 14 year old is one of my grand daughters and the 11 is a boy. She is the one l got the Mossburg for, and l think l lost my Rem. .20 1100 LT. to the boy. Have two barrels for it and the slug barrel is mounted with a scope. A hand gun shell type guns are great for them ,but no other use, opr limited.
DON'T BLAME ME ! I VOTED FOR THE AMERICAN !!! And I won't vote for the sorry LYING B***** come 2016 !!

Luke started with a H&R .44 at 7 years old with a red dot scope. That gun has killed over a dozen deer and one of the best IMO for young kids. It has better ballistics than the .357 and recoil is not bad either. Hornady ammo is great. Lot of good memories with that gun and hopefully more to come.

Thanks for all the input gentlemen. It's appreciated. I'm still on the hunt. Shopping for my nephew, he's 9. I'm leaning towards .44 or .357, just seems to be slim pickins and the few I find are a bit out of my price range (which I'm beginning to think I'll have to give in to). Everyone seems to be holding on to their H&Rs. Not a lot of those CVA Scouts on the used market and new they're out of my price range. I know those .410 Rossi sets are very affordable, but I've read they're not great for slugs and some of them can't be scoped (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm thinking I'm just going to have to keep saving and go at it again when I have an over $300 budget.
