+1 for the stabilizer straps. They make your stand solid as a rock once you tighten them down. You never have to worry about bumping your stand while wearing bulky clothing and having the top slide down the tree. If you have a climbing stand, they are a must have!

Years ago when I bought my Summit Viper, this strap came with the stand. Not sure why they do not include it anymore - cutting into profits?? taking my climber in to have it sprayed with Rhino liner for next year. Hate the cling and clang of it when walking in with branches or what not hitting it.

Thats a great idea... Practically will last forever... Please let us know how much that will cost because I am now interested in doing my ladder stands...

I also use pipe insulation on my guardrail. I added extensions to the seat which now holds my extra stuff in the stand. I also painted the rungs on my ladder stand and added sand before it dries .

I'm going to have the entire stand coated. I already put the spray foam inside the tubing which helped a lot. I've talked to a few that have done there equipment with Rhino and it does add a little weight but not enough to really notice a difference. As long as my equipment doesn't feel like a 75lb rucksack I'll be in business lol but sometimes I think I'm packing that much.
I do know it should be done early in the year so the new smell is gone by season opener. I'll let you guys know the out come and post some pictures on here.

Do any of you guys know where to get any in pieces 7 feet long 1 inch in diameter around Shelby county? My stand already had the pipe insulation on it but I also wrapped it in Mcnett tape. It is kind of like the newer tape that they wrap your arm in when you get a shot or give blood but its camo. For the shrink tube you might try B&H Electric 1127 Miller Ave. ask for Mike or Kirby Risk Electric 2323 E. Michigan Rd. both in Shelbyville
