Where are most people seeing deer? If you had a choice between a field or a bedding area where would you be tonight?

Cut corn if nearby bedding area. But that still depends on whether you can get in without every deer seeing you.

I am seeing more does out in the cut cornfields at dusk the last couple days. I would be there or just inside between bedding and food.

Thanks for the replies guys. I sat on the edge of a cut bean field last night and the only deer I saw was a door that the neighbors jumped up shooting a semi auto something. It didn't present a shot needless to say. I would have thought for sure there would've been deer out in the fields feeding after the snow hit. The bucks wouldn't be in the lock down phase of the second rut would they?

My brothers saw a buck this morning on their way to the woods that they were sure was getting ready to mount a doe until they came around a bend in the road and spooked the doe . So there is still some breeding taking place .

The guy who hunts one property we have in southern Indiana has had 7 antlerless eating in standing beans and 4 does in a cut corn field behind him. No bucks yet though.

Well I saw a mature doe with its dawns out in the cut bean field. Unfortunately it was when I was coming out of the woods where I hunted between the bedding area and the field. Oh well. Beautiful evening to be out in the woods though. Love hunting in the snow.

CORN ! Go to the cut CORN. Corn is a high heat fuel for animals. They'll eat corn to keep up their body fat and body heat. Find the path between the thickest cover and the cut corn field. The larger area that you can command a view of, the better off you'll be; however, especially with this snow, find the major highway that leads from the thicket to the cut corn field. Try to be about 25 yards off the path, but don't give up your view of the corn field because they can enter the corn field from just about anywwhere. You may have to burn a late morning or mid day hunt to scout for this major highway in the snow. Corn has always produced more deer for me than cut beans.
