In Versailles In Blue Zone 10 Am And Haven't Heard But Maybe 10 Shots What Is Going On

Not the deer there used to be?

At Shades Area 1 and I have only heard 6 shots of which 4 were at 3 does and a buck that passed by me at 7:15am at about 35 yards only to go by me and down a ravine and get hammered by another hunter at 7:20am!! We are not suppose to shoot till 7:30am based on the park hunt rules. I guess that hunters watch was a little fast today or he's forget his watch all together. Oh well, that happens! My buddy and I haven't heard or seen a thing since then either. I hope some of the other hunters get down and push a few, but I bet most are like us hopeing for the same thing-nobody will move then. I was at Brown County today. I didn't see anything until I was leaving and I jumped a stinky buck from his bed right behind the nature center. I stopped counting after 50 shots. There were plenty more after that. One person fired 10 rounds and then another 3 after that. I'll be back at it tomorrow. First shot this morning was 7:16.

I can't belive that Versailles got hunted again this year that makes it 4 or 5 years in a row. I know that the biologist put a lot of time and effort into determining if a park needs hunted or not . And I am sure a lot of deer come and go from private ground to park ground so I am sure it is a tough task trying to get a good guesstimation on the deer population. Good luck to all of you. One checked in at Clifty when I left at 1:00 seems that maybe they just are not moving today

Only 1 deer checked at Shades area 1 by 2pm.. That is very low in contrast to last year. I did not see any deer at all and went 1-mile deep, up high, in a high deer traffic area for years past.

WW and got a doe. Going back tomorrow.

I killed an 8 point and 2 does in brown county state park on the early hunt in November then on the late hunt in December got a seven point from the same tree!! I love how you can kill a buck on each state park hunt that doesn't count on your normal buck tag. Was definitely worth applying for those hunts. Done a lot of scouting b4 the hunts too. Can't wait til my muscatatuck hunt next weekend. I'll post pics of those bucks. Not monster's but I was happy with them. Got em with my 458 socom.
