Have seen two deer but to far to tell what they were let alone get a shot . 4 of us in area 7 . I have heard way less shots than in years past

Only 18 checked in deer when I left at 1. Smaller 8s. No showstoppers as the co put it.

My buddy and I were the third truck in the gate this morning and Kevenhunter pulled in 2 minutes later behind us...

Had a big momma come out behind and saw me before I could pull up on her and scaled 7 yards in one jump... She also had a little one in tow... Saw one (what looked like) a 4pt buck come out where I was set up when I was walking to my buddy's truck that looked injured but too far to tell for sure but was walking gimpy like... Also jumped three more deer that were bedded down...

Though I didn't harvest anything this weekend (or season) I would still call it a success due to numerous sightings I got to see...

By the way, it sure was a pleasure meeting you Kevinhunter...

Seen 3 more does. Took the biggest. They estimated her at 3.5 yrs and 180+ lbs. Big momma Shot at 10:58am in area 4

I had a fun day in the woods at Camp Atterbury Area 2 today along the river. My buddy and I didn't see a deer one, but enjoyed a nice day in the wild. Heard a few shots close, but not to many for the day as in years past. We chose to hunt some escape routes in hopes of catching some deer heading away from the foot soldiers, it just didn't work out though! Oh well it was fun all the same and great to see alot of friends and meet some new hunting friends. Bryan78 it was a pleasure to meet you as well, sounds like you had a great day too! This was my first time on this hunt. Not sure I can handle all the bureaucracy. I understand it but it's not my cup of tea. It felt a bit like a mix between waiting in line for a roller coaster and visiting the pre-Mitch Daniels BMV

The hunting part was fun though.

It was nice weather. The area we hunted had a lot of sign although neither had a sighting except for a very healthy yote.

My season is done... Even though I have two muzzleloaders, I haven't hunted ML Season in years since I am usually in Florida during the season...

There were 4 of us in our group in area 7 we all seen deer but they were all to far or they were bucks that didn't meet the antler restriction . But still a great day in gods creation and I am always thank full to have been drawn to hunt there. That place is home to some giants.
