January 4-6 Location: open for discussion, my pick is Morgan Monroe
Accomadations: Camping(tent, camper, truck cab) around a really hot fire
Food: Something you don't need electricity to make
Beverages: Energy Drinks(including but not limited to Coffee),Water and Beer, but soda is fine too
Mission: To meet others that share a common interest in a lost tradition: DEER CAMP, COMERADERIE, FUN, AND THE HUNT!!
Expected End State: To hunt, eat alot, maybe see a deer and to go home Sunday looking forward to the 2013 "Bring back Deer Camp Hunt".
SOOOOOOOOOOO lets hear some input and get er done!!

Yes please! And burrrrr I'll be needing my buddy heater camping in January. I can definitely make this work, only catch for me is I'll likely have to take the car (need to pick son up in Indy Sunday evening) therefore if I was lucky enough to take a doe would need help with transport or perhaps donate to a donation program. Also, this would mean the popup camper would be left back home so I'd be in tent or bumming a spot to sleep.

John, sounds like a plan sir. I'm excited already about this hunt.

Tyson, I think John has a plan for the deer, would probably give us all a chance to see de-boning done right, I've personally never done it. And depending who comes along with me, I may have room in my camper(yep, tent camping is over for this 21 year Army Vet, lol). I can sleep 3 on the beds and if we add my 2 cots, we can sleep 5, may be a little cramped but hey who cares, we will only be sleeping in there! If this isn't an option, then I'll let you use my buddy heater as well, to help with the chill. Its Indiana so it could be 10 degrees or 50, time will only tell.
Tagyii, I drilled for many a year in Connersville, still have alot of Army buddies that live there, looking forward to meeting you.
Ok, the event is growing, we need more though, the more the merrier!!!

I've been butchering my own for a few years now but guarantee John could teach me a few tricks lol. All I need is a place to curl up in a sleeping bag, beggars can't be choosers. I do have a older pop up however it's not much better than a tent. (and the scion hatchback granny car doesn't hitch up lol)

Any chance a moderator could be so kind to pin this thread to keep up top?

As long as its not a blizzard I'll have my camper, lol, I may be in a tent as well. I talked to the DNR and they just opened or at least posted another 300 acres of land that butts upto Yellowwood, looked good to me, and actually saw 5 deer while scouting it Friday. I will do more thorough of a scout job prior to this hunt. There is plenty of space on this piece, not to mention the hundreds of yellowwood, property is off of elm shoot road, and there is access off of Possum Trot road.

I'm gonna be brutally honest, the colder it gets the less camping seems realistic to me. Haha, call me a whuss if you will but I'm just saying.
