.....buying more magazines. Only one thing determines the rut, photoperiodism, and that guarantees that most of the does in Indiana will be bred on or before November 12th, with the earliest does coming into heat 11/3 give or take. You want to kill more deer? Make sure you are in the woods 11/4-11/9 every year when the first 20% of does come into heat.
Deer and Deer Hunting Magazine predicted a late rut for the Midwest with seeking/chasing starting around 11/8 (today). As I write this from the stand, I have spent the last five days on all day sits and 9 of the last 12 days total. I have already seen 3 does bred (on Monday and Tuesday) and almost all buck and doe fawns have been abandoned for now. Big bucks started heavy movement 5 days ago. If you aren't seeing rut activity it probably has more to do with your hunting location or stand placement than the timing of the rut.
One additional point, I have seen the biggest deer, year in and year out, between 10am-2pm, so plan to sit all day.

Ha ha good stuff. It is on. I was was on the way home from back quack yesterday and had a doe bolt out of a thicket. I slowed well stopped rarely fast to see the big guy chasing and all I did was pisz off the women behind me cause I wanted to see he never showed probably a good one cause it was around noon thirty. Still don't know why she didn't drive around? Good luck men watch the wind this weekend!

I saw four bucks this wkend from stand. No chasing. Traveled through Orange, Crawford and Harrison counties yesterday afternoon from 3:30 to dark, purposely taking back roads through the HNF and Harrison Crawford SF. Saw about 20-25 does. Zero bucks. This was through some good country. Does were feeding.
