Checked a lake last evening in Cass county. After that big snow a couple weeks ago and warm spell it was pretty crummy with a bunch of slush and water on top.

Last night things were in real good shape. Approx. 10" of good solid ice, and all of the slush and snow had refrozen making walking and dragging your gear very easy.

Better get out and fish while you can.

Hoping to get out tomorrow evening and on Monday, then its back to the real world with a new real world job!

Should be good again in the south after a few days of this weather.

All open water on majority of the ponds around here guess I ain't going to get to go this year

Caught 7. Had to work for them! Wouldn't hit anything until I dropped a pink and white jig down! That was right at dusk! Man was it cold!

Fished 15 fow but these few hit in about 11 ft. Vex was handy tonight

Nice going. Thought about it today but have to admit the cold influenced me to stay home.

Caught a few yesterday that we really had to work for. They were big ones for the most part but extremely light on the bite. Got enough for a mess. The shanty was a must and it was nice and toasty in there.

Picked up 9 more tonight. Still marked a few that wouldn't hit. Same lake as last night. Now I have a nice mess to bag!

Been doing great this year on crappie, but haven't caught too many gills.

We are getting a nice long ice fishing season this year in the northern part of the state. Back after them again this weekend !

Finally got out and did a little ice fishing today. 4 of us hit a farm pond over by Muncie. Bite was slow but we did leave with about 50 between us all. Probably a good 7"-8" of ice.

Looks like at least a couple more weeks of ice...might be getting a little old! LOL!

We've been killing the crappie. My buddy from out of state is coming in this evening and we are going to get a long weekend of ice fishing in. Better enjoy it while it lasts.
