Had a limit by 8am from the local stocked pond. Second time I recall fishing in the snow. First time was last night after work. Caught 3 between 730 pm and dark. I dressed for hunting in 20 degree weather and it was fine. Had the place to myself

Think only two are closed till April. Know that one of them is Island Pit in Sullivan Co.

I'm guessing the other is Airline in the GSSF. I think there is a lake at a park in the Haute and it closed as well.

C, guys were using power bait and corn tonight. A few of us were throwing flies and a couple guys were throwing spinners. The power bait guys were doing the best I think.

I went to Minnehaha for the trout opener on Monday. I was able to catch my first trout...



But I missed three others that I had on the line. I'm planning on heading back out this weekend to see if I can get a limit. They are a pretty tasty fish.

I like my trout grilled. Pretty good stuff.

I was in Colorado attending a conference and 7-8 of us took some free time to fish one of the lakes nearby. Each caught our limit and feed the entire conference group. Most of the guys had never had trout and there wasn't one that didn't like it. It became a yearly thing for a while. All I did was clean them, and put a type of salt/spice (I forget what it was) and grilled them.

Gonna put this on my bucket list!

Trout is definitely a great fish to eat. Living in Colorado we would catch them, clean them, and just wrap them in foil with a little lemon juice and throw them in the fire. Good eats.

Is it mild...strong? Comparable to....?? I've eaten just about every native Indiana fish...except trout, I guess. Can't stand salmon! (my idea of strong taste)

I like them baked or broiled with butter and lemon. Trout are an oily fish like a salmon. h.h.

Yeah butter and lemon is great to. I think they are a mild tasting fish personally.

I just clean out all the guts, leave the head on, and cook em.

They are better than Lake Monroe gizzard shad....if that tells ya anything!!! :p They do remind me of "mild" salmon. But I likeit too.

I went out to Minnehaha Sunday evening. I set up in a spot where I saw people catching fish the last time I was there. I was there a little before 7:00 and had my limit before 9:00. All were caught on orange dough bait...
