in Indiana?? I saw a brief news post today with a picture of two ICO's in Noble county helping release a badger that had been caught in a trap. I never heard of badgers in Indiana. Has anybody else??

I seen one last year while deer hunting. I told the landowner thinking he would call me crazy. Turns out he had seen 1 or 2 over the few years he has lived there.

Wow, I had no idea. The critter had dug one, heckuva hole before the CO's got to him. Pretty interesting animal from what I've been reading.

Originally posted by THROBAK: They are the meanest thing I ever released We used a large wash tub to release one that we caught back in the early 80's. Put it over him and he calmed down real good. Left the trapped paw sticking out under the tub and released it and ran back to the truck. When we left he was still under the tub. We came back about an hour later, he was gone. We tried using a catch pole the first time getting him out. When I finally got the cable around his neck and thought I could choke him down it was like trying to subdue a concrete block with teeth and claws, so we got the tub and it worked real good

A friend trapped one as an incidental catch in eastern Greene County in the very late'70's or early 80's when we were kids in school. CO helped him release. Actually pretty close to where the mountain lion was had on trail cam in 2010. Never seen one in the wild either.
