I caught my 5th bobcat in 3 years today. I was able to release it unharmed by using a plastic tote. I hope the video works. It is a bit grainy because I have an old camera but you will get the idea.

Yeah, I did not know I could still move that fast. Watching the video the first time I thought what a big wuss. I don't know who ran the other direction faster, me or the cat. smile But after seeing their fangs and claws I was not taking any chances. This one was actually small compared to a few of the other ones I caught. By the time a season does come around I will never catch one again.

You'll feel it in the morning!!!! Idda ran like he!! too! laugh That is a very good way to release them, and not have to worry about injuring them with a catch pole.

I think putting a tote over them makes them feel at ease and they calm down. It did not fight or even move when it was under the tote and i just slid the tote to expose the trap and paw. It worked out very well. I had a really deep pad catch on it too. I think a catch pole stresses them out too much and it is difficult to even get the noose around their neck cause they will take their other paw and try to grab it.

Great video. Now I have another use for the tote I carry all my goodies in. Perfect, quick, simple, release. Great job.

nicely done. I have not seen that method.

Seems much more humane to the cat by not having the catch pole on them. Also less risk of catching a claw with the cat in the tub.

I heard one time that if you use a catch pole that it really stresses them out to the point that once they are released they will die. Don't know if this is true or not. But this method works very well and seems to be safe for both of us. Thanks for all the positive replies fellas. Hope this video helps others out in the same predicament.
