At Kankakee F&W area only "non-toxic" loads can be used...found that out last season after I drove 40 miles and got there at 3am...went to sign in, did that went back to the truck for a final coffee sip, forgot to get my card, went back to the booth to get it, and THEN noticed the sign that said only non-toxic shot can be used on this property....CRAP !! ..... I had Win. xx 3" copper plated 5's .....it was a long drive home.....Heavy shot turkey loads is legal there....I had none.....very interesting with these new loads, but it is still just copper plated lead isnt it ?....

I guess I was illegal then at BO last fall when I killed a deer during the primitive muzzle loader hunt using a patched lead round ball.
Banning lead shot is/was the stupidest rule the feds ever came up with. Another one of those feel/sound good laws that are created to solve a problem that doesn't exit. h.h.

I saw them at Big R the other day for 17.99 a box but Ive got enough turkey shells to last me the rest of my hunting days. I counted the other day and Ive got 16 boxes of 12ga lead and heavy shot and 10 boxes of 3" 20 ga lead and heavy shot. All are boxes of 10. That's almost 260 turkey shells to shoot before I'm out. Lastly if I miss a turkey at 70 yards I can always blame the shell cause I wasnt using Long Beard XR. h.h.

I don't see it that way. The xr's out pattern any other shell I ever tried over the last 15 years or so in my 835. It's a good product and I think most turkey hunters understand it's still a copper plated lead load. Another thing though they shoot so tight you better be careful with your aim under 20.

I'll agree that "most turkey hunters" will understand the limitations of this new shell.....but there are those who won't.

I understand where you're coming from Weed, the ads don't help either. Bschwein those are some good numbers. LB still in there with the high dollar shells. What size shot for the LB? 3" shells or 3.5"? Thanks.
