I have been putting in a lot of time on stand this year just like every other year as I hunt mostly public land but don't shoot the first thing i see either. I was going to hunt until 10am today and I looked at my watch and it was 10:01. So i unloaded my gun and was just about ready to tie it on my pull up rope when I heard a grunt to my right. Here come this nice 8 pointer right at me. I had to put a round in my Marlin Bolt action 512 slug gun turn to my right and shot him at about 15 yards. Not the monster I dream of getting every year but I am truly happy with him. You can see my stand to the right in the second picture.

This was the only deer I seen all morning. I know it is tough sometimes to hang in there especially if you haven't seed a deer for 4 hours. Gun season is usually all luck. Right place right time.
