The next Natural Resources Commission (NRC) meeting is:

July 15, 2014
10:00 a.m. EDT (9:00 a.m., CDT)
Fort Harrison State Park - Garrison
6002 North Post Road
Indianapolis, Indiana

To see the detailed agenda (and download related materials) refer to:

Among other things, the July agenda includes items regarding possession and sale of river otters and sale of squirrel hides.

However, please note that there is nothing on the July agenda regarding any changes to deer hunting regulations. DFW is still considering input for regulation changes for deer AND other game animals received early this year. My understanding resulting from a recent conversation with a DFW staff person is that DFW will likely get some additional rule change proposals to the NRC for its consideration at its September meeting. Whatever those proposed changes may be, they would/could be considered for PRELIMINARY adoption. With the legal steps involved, including public hearing(s) and time for additional comments on any proposals that may be PRELIMINARILY adopted, none of the proposed changes would be in effect for the 2014 fall hunting seasons. Hunters will have ample time to review and comment on any proposals that may be PRELIMINARILY adopted at the September NRC meeting.

DFW is currently planning to post any proposed rule changes on their web site BEFORE the September NRC meeting.

May all our hunts be safe, enjoyable, and deeply appreciated.
