We would like to invite you to join Governor Mitch Daniels and several conservation partners at noon Thursday (June 10) to announce a major (MAJOR) land conservation initiative that expands the Wabashiki Fish & Wildlife Area project. Think of it as potentially having a "flyway-changing" impact.

At 9 am Friday (June 11), the Governor will make a follow-up announcement at Hardy Lake State Recreation Area that addresses a second significant land conservation initiative that once completed will be the largest F&W area in the system. Please come to one or both if you can make it.

Directions are as follows:

Thursday event in Terre Haute:
From Interstate 70, take U.S. 41 north. Stay right on 41 at the split with Indiana 63. At the first stoplight after the split, turn left (west) on Fort Harrison Road. Go two full blocks and turn right (north) to the parking lot at Fort Harrison at the Landing golf course.

Friday event at Hardy Lake State Recreation Area:
From Interstate 65 at Austin, go east on Indiana 256 to Indiana 203. Turn left (north) on 203, which becomes Hardy Lake Road at the entrance to the State Recreation Area. The event is at the South Picnic Shelter.
