A few folks have been asking about the Alaska trip. There is a short photo essay about the hunt on the Indiana forum of Bowsite.com at the link below.

We received a call from our pilot two days before the hunt asking if we could postpone for a week due to poor caribou movement. Of course, logistically, this was not feasible. We were told to "temper our expectations". Not exactly what one wants to hear on the front end of a hunt, but with potentially nine days to hunt, we remained optimistic.

The news got better prior to our fly day and our pilot was able to drop us in an area with decent numbers of animals.

The actual hunt started at sunrise Monday, 8/22. Tempered expectations quickly became exceeded expectations. Two tags were punched by noon that day and we were completely tagged out by 9:00 the following morning.
