My dad and I went on our first black bear hunt up in Quebec last week with Tippmann Outfitters. The drive was fairly easy, about 15-16 hours.

It was a long hunt for me, finally killing a nice boar the last night of the 6-day hunt, in the final minutes of daylight. We had a group of 10 guys hunting and they all got shots at bears, we ended up bringing home 8.

The only shot my bear gave me was head-on, facing me with his head up looking at me at 20 yards. I was able to slip my arrow into the base of his neck, dropping him, and immediately let out his death moan and expired in under 20 seconds.

It was a great hunt and I'm excited to eventually go back to chase a bigger one!
