The deer have just destroyed my plots this year. I have been buying seed from a company called Grandpa Ray Outdoors (I'm not affiliated with them, they just have great customer service, knowledgeable, and prices are good). Anyway, this year I did their Inner Sanctum which is a mix of various clovers, kale, and triticale. It didn't come up as thick as some in the past what I planted with a lot of rape, oats, and rye, but what did come up the deer have hammered it. They eat it as fast as the clovers can come up. I've never seen anything like it. Mostly does and young bucks on cam, but it is crazy.

I also planted for the second year in a row their Grains and Greens mix on an exposed plot. This is primarily a radish and turnip blend with some snow peas and other stuff mixed in. Last year was ok, but this year the deer have destroyed it. Every night after dark they have been in it from about mid October on. It is a protected plot with sorghum screening around it so they feel secure. An adjacent clover plot gets hit some, but nothing like this one.

Next year I am looking to build a new hunt plot with screening vegetation. Probably a perimeter strip of clover, with beans in the middle. Then over seed with rye and oats as the beans start to brown.
