Military hunts... There are two hunts during the last weekend of firearm season and you could take a Buck both days would be my guess.

Ive been correct on the harvest numbers or **** close to them for quite a few years .... no fear mongering, just stating what I believe....a more efficient tool will result in higher kill/harvest numbers....higher harvest numbers for a few years result in lower numbers in following years...very simple.....the deer herd HAS been shrinking for the last several....the kill WILL go up for a few then drop....just wait and see....

Guys just a thought on the centerfires, I hunted N.Y state for 30+ years, southern zone with shotgun. A few years ago they allowed rifles of any cal., made a big stink with everyone just like the crossbows which they just allowed this year. Bottom line is, it makes no difference in the kill numbers as N.Y. found out. Maybe Indiana will have some safety concerns because of all the open farm land , but I don't think so. Good luck to all this year, Hope we will have some better weather then last year for opening week.

Don't forget the basically unlimited depradation tags that can be used all summer and are passed out like candy.

I agree... Jeff, many factors contribute to deer population numbers rising and falling....

If you kill a deer with a shotgun or bow this year and kill one next year with a rifle, what was different other then the weapon used?.... Answer:NOTHING, except two dead deer which would be the same thing if you only used a bow, shotgun, or rifle to take them...ugh

dead is dead.

If/when I can hunt with a centerfire rifle then I will kill the same number I do now...I hunt what I can eat in a year then call it a season.

The .243 is dialed in and shooting sweet, it will be a coyote gun this season and hopefully a deer gun next.

Is Muscatatuck no longer an extra buck?

I've killed three in one season before. Have a chance at 4 this year but doubtful that will happen. State tag, 2 atterbury hunts, and a park hunt.
