Took the family up yesterday. There from 11-130 or so. I had a deer scored and my goodness trying to get down that aisle was crazy. It is amazing to see what types a of animals are roaming the state.

I agree it was good but crowded. Got some fishing poles and renewed for NRA. The kids had a good time. Would like to see more waterfowl.

Snuck in for a couple of hours about noon, crowds were not too bad then. Wall of fame was awesome as usual. I really liked the stacked, turning shoulder mounts at the Driven booth...something different.

Kyle, to a degree you have a point. That said, what would you suggest be changed to create something "new". Seriously looking for constructive thoughts from you or others.

Delaney, you want some suggestions haha, this is the first show I have missed in years, now that I live out of state, Always enjoyed the show but the one thing that NEEDS to be looked at changing is either one- move it to a bigger venue or have the boat/camper people reduce their inventory on one of the side barns to allow the deer and turkey exhibitors set up there, so you are not nut to butt with every person in the building. I understand its a money maker for the campers etc but the overall show needs to look are reducing the inventory of trailers/boats brought in. The patron that is coming in say several hours away to the deer and turkey show would have a much more enjoyable time if they could actually look at the exhibits and products instead of feeling like they are in a mass traffic jam. I feel the exhibits and stuff at the deer and turkey show are spot on, seems to always have a few big names, which draw some people. Just my two cents, hopefully I can make it back up next year.

I'm betting the trailers and boats pay the bills.

I agree with Navy! I quit going because I cannot take my time and see what I want to see, because its too dang crowded. Its been 6 years since I went to one and spent any time at all in there. Last time there, I'd get in an isle, and get pushed right past where I wanted to stop. After two hours of that, I got the heck out, vowed to not ever go back. Not worth it.

The crowded issue is certainly an issue, at least at certain times of the day. For instance, I'd say after 4pm on Saturdays, the crowd starts to diminish a lot and anywhere after 7pm on Saturday getting around in the aisle is very easy. However, those times wouldn't work for a lot of folks and mid day is nightmare'ish.

Agree it is like a herd of cattle being pushed down the isle. Maybe run it till like Tuesday or Wednesday so maybe not everyone wouldn't feel like they needed to be there on Saturday.

Agree I quit going when ticket prices got so high. They have been lowered I see. Did anyone check out tackle town. It used to be the best then bla. Had a buck scored several years ago and went well. Might try mid week if weather is ok for hour 1/2 drive. Worth it?

Great bucks on that wall! We just keep getting better and better.

Interesting that some of the mounts are scary looking. Look at the eyes and you can tell some of the bucks are natural looking and some are just plain bad.

Im not sure how you could change it. It just seems it's the same booth and people year after year. Once you seen it once you seen it all.

Looked to me like the wall of bucks had a lot of empty spots compared to last year.

There were two and a half boards, I believe, that were left empty because of guys not showing up with their heads to be displayed. The show is at the mercy of guys to follow through on their commitment to bring their heads for display. The remaining boards had 8 heads per board except for the Hall of Fame board that had more.

The crowd is definitely an issue. I would guess Renfro loves it because they get lots of tickets sold in 3 days. I do wonder if they know how many people do not go because it is so crowded. Our hunting retriever club moves from the expo to tackle town for the next week. The number of people I saw come through on Monday and Tuesday was very low. I would think they could extend the expo and cut back on some other area of the show. Even a larger area with the same number of vendors would be a great help.
