I spent most of Sunday afternoon doing some woodlot improvement

We took out several trees including many black and honey locust and other invasive species to open up some canopy for a new food plot this spring.

We notched many trees with a chainsaw and then added tordon herbicide to kill them (learned from Grant Woods).

I also experimented with used a 1 inch auger bit in my 18 Volt drill also to drill the trees and then inject with tordon herbicide. This worked very well also to get the herbicide in.

I will post some pics this spring when we plant!!

Tordon recommends treating the trees in the fall when the sap is going back into the roots but the ones I did late last winter died.

This spring Im going after vines that climb and choke off the value trees.

I just came back inside from putting on a new stater rope on my Stihl O31. Takes a man to run that saw for very long and Im sure not the man I used to be. LOL h.h.
