The 14,000+ acre Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore has been re designated as the Indiana Dunes National Park, Indiana's first and only National Park ... oh, great ..smh ... now even more visitors will flock to NW Indiana .... even though the "Dunes National Lakeshore" was never set up for deer hunting as some other National Lakeshore parks are, there was always an outside chance.... now with this being a National Park, that idea is gone forever .... the Park has been doing its Sharpshooting again this year in their attempt to reduce the deer population to 10 deer per square mile or less .... anyways, Indiana has its first National Park ...... BTW, the Indiana Dunes State Park sits right in the Middle of the Nat. Park ...... the State Park is hunted as needed for deer reduction thru draws ....
