The Swamps of South Ga!
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup sugar (for top layer)
- 1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour (for top layer)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for top layer)
- 1/4 cup butter/margerine (for top layer)

- Thoroughly cream together shortening and 3/4 cup sugar; add egg and beat till light and fluffy.
- Sift together 2 cups flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture, alternately with the milk.
- Spread into greased 11x7x1.5 baking dish (first layer)
- Spread on the 2 cups blueberries (middle layer)
- Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and cinnamon; cut in the butter till crumbly; sprinkle over the berries (top layer) {PS, we added broken pecans to our top layer wink }
- Bake on 350 for 45mins (we broiled for about a minute at the end to make top extra crunchy), remove and serve hot! My wife also made a little light cream cheese "dipper" for the side.

Dude you guys could run a sweet country style B&B with the menu you've created. Simply amazing you are not enormous by now lol. Keep the recipes coming.....we've taken a lot of insight from this forum.
