I just made a batch of WW's taco soup that he had posted under "Deer Hunting". I substituted black beans for the pintos (wife likes it better), used the hot taco mix, and threw in Red Gold's fiesta style diced tomatoes instead of regular.
Another great use for ground venison. We give it 4 1/2 stars!!! We also garnished it with a little sour cream and Kraft shredded mexican four cheese. It was a nice change from chili. If I was making just for me, I would spice it up a little more, but it was excellent just as it was.

TRY IT!! laugh laugh

Just curious if this turned out ~thinner like a soup, or ~thicker like a chili or stew.

I like to make my chili just a little bit thin then load up the crackers to soak it up and be thicker & chunkier.

It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're flying with a bunch of turkeys.

It was a thick soup. If you want thinner, you could add more than the 1 1/2 cans of water that it calls for.

Made it tonight.....not a thing wrong with it. Very tasty thanks for posting woody! (Somebody pass the message along to him if he's not reading here =) I also substituted black beans. I browned 2lbs venison burger then added sweet onion, pepper/salt, green chile's, ranch/taco seasoning, & water and allowed to simmer. After simmer for 1/2 hour I combined with remaining ingredients in crockpot. Cooked on high for 3 hours and it is now chilling (thickening) in fridge overnight. Did sneak a taste test and it is yummy. Really a Mexican Chili more than anything else. May boil elbow macaroni tomorrow then serve with sour cream and shredded cheese. Add some crackers and were good to go! Have a feeling there will be some to go thru vac sealer for later and I also have a feeling it will be even better then. Multiple hearty meals for less than 10 bucks.....hmm yet another tasty treat for deer burger.

We made this on Monday night. A very good dish. Been eating the leftovers for lunch this week.
