The pond on our property in Orange County was dredged out about 3 years ago and has now developed lily pads around the entire pond. These are small pads, 2 to 3 inches in diameter. About 1/3 of an acre, the only open water is in the middle of the pond. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them without harming the fish population would be appreciated. Thanks.

Years ago my dad had his pond treated by someone for lilly pads....... all they used was ROUNDUP! Only lightly spraying the tops of each one. "Best time is when they are flowering"... the guy said.

LOL, now take it for what it's worth bro.....! laugh

I use roundup on the cat tails and got rid of them. It took me 2 years but they are gone. With the cattails gone so are the muskrats which were digging in the dam.

The lillys you are talking about we call dollar lillys because they are liken to silver dollars. h.h.

No ticks, turkeys, shrooms, lily pads, may apples, or trespassers. Interesting conversation with land auction guy, however.

Sad but true. Got a good price, but sad to lose the place after all these years. The guy did tell me I can go mushroom hunting there whenever I want, so at least there's that.

My Dad bought it from his brother in 1961...a long time. Lots of good times in Southern Indiana!
