I know down in southern Indiana I have seen eagles many times, but up here in my surrounding counties it is a BIG rarity. We had an osprey couple close nearby, and I spotted and eagle at SR39 & SR8 a coupla yrs ago. Today I went with a buddy to shed hunt and less than a mile from my house and a (country) block from his was an eagle in a field (on a deer carcass). Five hours later he was still in a tree over the carcass and I had the digital with me. As I said, for us here this is a BIG deal, we just dont have them....

Great pic Andy! Thanks for sharing it and the story!
My wife and I saw one not long ago sitting on a limb almost out over I-74.... thought it was odd that close to the highway and with 75mph traffic! I know RedTails do it a LOT, hunting for food.... but......... an Eagle?? Just thought that was rare too!
Just call me Bo! In the Spring I Strut ~ In the Fall I Rut!
