The DNR once again offering the Community Hunting Access Program (CHAP). This program is designed to increase hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer in urban and municipal environments and help alleviate human/deer conflicts.

The program will provide community partners with financial and technical assistance to administer hunting programs in their communities. Each community partner will determine where and when managed hunts occur and which hunters are able to participate. Each managed hunt will be administered by a CHAP Coordinator. CHAP coordinators have been trained in hunting safety, deer biology, and public relations.
Communities interested in participating in the Community Hunting Access Program should submit a grant application by March 31.
