First picture is a food plot planted with turnips on the left and ground hog radishes the right with winter wheat surrounding them. I wanted to see which one the deer preferred and the deer didn't seem to prefer one over the other.

About 2 weeks ago when we got that big snow they almost uncovered the whole turnip/radish patch. The soft/wet snow has frozen solid and its hard for the deer to dig so today I put out some hay and corn. Ive got 9 hen turkeys hanging out and wanted to help them out too. Wildlife will be stressed with these arctic type temps and deep snow. Any kind of supplement food right now might make a difference whether some survive. h.h.

Saturday I plan on building a hay feeder and putting the feeder in this plot.

When I belonged to the Drummond Island, Michigan sportsman club we would hold a raffle banquet each fall and all the money was used buy hay to feed the island deer herd. The club placed hay feeders all over the island at key places. Help stave off the winter kill. Deer have hard time of it there with grey wolfs, coyotes and bears. h.h.

I think the deer will appreciate it. Pretty tough weather coming.
