Next year the fields around our lease will be corn. The ridges were logged 3 years ago offering what I think is plenty of light to plant supplemental food plots back on the flats. Some spots will get more sun then others but we r wanting to try plots. In low to mid light areas what works best. Need something that comes on later in October upto when the corn is picked. The farmer almost always plows immediately after harvest which is the main reason for wanting plots.

Thanks

Winter wheat or rye would be my choice.

If the plot is in the woods make sure falling leaves wont choke it off. Any broadleave plant will usually need a lot of sun so I would plant grasses or a cereal grain.

You might throw in some alsike, med red and ladino clover mix. Ive had them do fair to good in shade.
No matter what you plant just remember the old saying..........."build it and they will come!" h.h.

If you're not a hemorrhoid, get off my butt.
