I know we have some war with moles veterans on this site. I am loosing this battle. These things are sneaky. I will push their tunnels down. Go inside for 30 minutes, go back out and they are up. Once I am outside, and I will stand there for 10-15 minutes, they stop there is no movement in the ground. I repeat this over and over and they are relentless. I can't afford the damage they are doing to my newly seeded yard. What are the best methods to eradicate these vermin.

I have killed several the past few weeks with the pitchfork. I smash down their runs usually by foot or just get the lawn mower out to do it. I take my shoes off an sneak up or sit a chair an wait. Walk as softly as you can.

Grub treatment gets rid of food source, then they should go away. If not, mole trap. Don't have time to sit and wait for them smile

Go to your local nursery or farm store and get poison worms. Cost under $20.00 for a box. Put one of them in a runway and the moles will be soon be gone. h.h.

A lawn chair, mason jar of sweet tea, and a .410 works for me.

I have them too. They make crooked tunnels often too deep to trap(can not see or feel tunnels). They just have huge mounds with no tunnels. I believe they are the elite special forces of the mole community.

I want to thank you all for your guidance and wisdom. I came home this morning to see a little nudge going down in the flower bed. my neighbors have to think I am nuts. I looked like a ninja with a shovel tip toeing across the yard. Got to within 2 yards. Placed the shovel about 8 inches behind the movement.... kicked the shovel... and out came that SOB! Whacked him and the rest is history. I screamed in excitement!!!!

Life must be slow in C-town Mr. Hooter? If you'd lime I can just stay at your house....

My issue here in the burbs are those darn chipmunks. Literally 4 of them on the sidewalk yesterday. I've rat trapped them but inadvertently crack a few squirrels on the head. I've pellet gunned them but they rarely sit still. I've tried to drown them. If not for having pets around I'd just poison them.

And while on my rant these variations of East winds are killing me! No stand for that. (Urban season)

Soak bird seed in anti-freeze and put down their hole(s)...per Yaz. Works like a charm.
