A dear close personal friend Doctor Charles Shick passed today. He was president of sycamore valley gun club and freedom range for 42 years. He was seriously considered to be president of the NRA.. he was an accomplished rifleman and pastionate about the hunting and shooting sports. He took me under his wing.after my dad died. He taught me to make every shot count... not just with a gun either.. a great friend and mentor and i will truly miss this man. I will post more about his life as.soon as i find a.real key board. I was glad he was able to.attend.the HH cook out last summer that honored those who served.
Again more.later..RIP Doc!.. as the sun sets im gonna fire a single shot in your honor!..TO say you were a first class man would be an understatement...

A great service for Doc today.. a true friend mentor sportsman and patriot. We ended the service with a 21gun salute! M1 was the firearm of choice!.. i must say that it was emoitional for me for about 2seconds.then i just smiled. I doubt many of you had the pleasure to meet him. I wish you had. Im getting a cd of pics of doc and his adventures ..ill post it up and then you will realize it why i hold this man in such high regard. Semper Fi doc.... thanks for all the lessons on and off the range.. ill try and make every shot count.....
In a word.. he was simply a good MAN!....

Side note.. speaking in public has never bothered me at all. Today was different. I never use notes but i stayed up all night trying to collect my thoughts and write some grand tribute to my friend. I pitched the notes and just spoke from heart.. "good advice bean".. we all know a guy like this.. and we should all strive to live up to the standard the greatest generation set the standard for..
