Some of you might be interested in legislation for the 2016 General Assembly. A few of the senate bills are already showing up. Of interest would be Senate Bills 7, 28, 86 and 109. I'm sure there will be many more to come.

SB28 is not an issue.

New bills today were:

HB1055 - Possession of firearms on state property
HB1056 - Handgun license repeal
HB1085 - Firearms and certification

On the HB 1056, hopefully they'll consider how that would or would not affect reciprocity agreements with other states.

(from another site) this may answer your question!!!

"My concerns include but are not limited to the fact that they are repealing the law requiring a LTCH, but are instituting a Firearms Reciprocity License, which we would have to pay to obtain if we wished to carry in other states. The cost of the FRL would be $40 for the Lifetime, if one already has a LTCH. I would favor the LTCH remaining the form issued by the state, since that's what everyone has, and just remove the requirement to be issued one."

"I am certain that Mr. Lucas had a reason for writing it this way. My guess would be that it makes it palatable to those looking to continue a revenue stream to the state once the LTCH goes away. This is, however, only guesswork- I've not spoken with any source at the State House on the topic."
