I see some bills are beginning to hit the hopper. So far none really affect Natural Resources but some might be interested in Senate Bill 48 requiring handgun training before receiving a permit to carry.

I find this interesting from the standpoint that we require hunter safety training for the younger folks. So, if you believe in one, does that then make the general sense that the other is good also.

I think this is because several states who have the training course does not have repiprocity with Indiana for that reason. No training course no repiprocity.

Well just because we might institute a training class does not mean states will line up to reciprocate...

Is it to late to introduce legislation for the upcoming session?

I could not find a House Bill for SB 48... Did not find any bills concerning high fence operations but I did find SJR 2... Right to hunt and fish bill... If it passes it will be on the ballot for the voters...

Most House bills have not been listed yet. They have until January 14th to file bills and even then can attach legislation practically anywhere they feel like.

We've been thru this before but I think if SJR2 passes this session then it goes to the voters. If not we start all over again.

I see SB136 abolishes the death penalty and SB114 establishes the elegant sea lilly as the state fossil. Wheeeee!!!!

SB224 and 215 are about "disguised firearms" (making them look like tools when they are functioning firearms.

SB176 is about restrictions on sales of Tannerite.

SB226 is about wild animal permits.

HB1029 is about BMV making a designation on a drivers license to show the holder also has a handgun permit.

Bills should really pile in the next few days.

A few new bills to ponder -

SB253 - Lifetime Hunting & Fishing licenses for disabled vets.

HB1143 - Firearms possession on state property
HB1144 - Repeal of handgun license

SJR12 - amends constitution for the right to farm and ranch.

HB1208 has been introduced allowing DNR to establish a "lottery" whereby 100 winners would be allowed to take an additional antlered deer during the first week of January.

Not really sure why the DNR would need this legislated. I would hope this legislator leave deer issues to the DNR. Ridiculous.
