Got this one Saturday in the rain. 16.5" and weighed just under 2lbs, 5 hours after it had been on ice. We caught some really nice gills as well, I think I cleaned 27 caught in just under 2 hours before lightning ruined all the fun.

Strip pit, its private, even If I caught it on public I would say where. I have a good friend who lives just north of Terre Haute and he has permission on some really nice pits down there. To my knowledge he is the only one that has permission. Some are very well managed and we have self imposed limits and others have too many fish in them. This particular pit has some of the biggest bluegills I have ever seen. We released all the females back as they were heavy with eggs, and kept some of the bucks. The crappies average better that 12" in there as well. Pretty nice little slice of heaven.
