I have seen grumblings on this. This is on the salt run stripers along the coast. Reports are populations are down a bunch. What that means, I don't know. Stripers are a HUGE recreational sport fish out East. I do not know if there is a commercial striper fishery or not….But when you see 1000's of pictures of 30 to 60lb dead stripers that people have caught and do not release, that's got to hurt the breeding stock. Other than that, I can't make a conclusion. I do bet the charter boat industry digs their heels in on any restrictions though…..even though they are likely the biggest part of the "problem".
