Got a friend up from KY for a couple days. We are looking for some decent cat fishing around the Richmond area. Some good ole sit by the river/lake with a lantern type of fishing. I know Brookville has a ton of catfishing and Whitewater spillway has been mentioned.

Any ideas guys?

might be a bit far, and it's a pay lake, but I know someone who highly recommends Lake Cozy Dale in Goshen, OH.

He catches fish from the Ohio River and stocks the ponds with them.

I have never been there and don't know the rates but they do catch some nice ones.

I'd hit Brookville.

I've always enjoyed fishing at Whitewater State Park at the beach... But only do it after dark cause you are not suppose to fish there but I think they look the other way when it is dark out...

Egypt Hollow boat ramp area. There is a feeder creek there. When it rains, and its get up, the cats pack in there! Throw right in the current. Good luck!

Pay lakes are Nothing more than Canned fishing and I despise them 100 times more than canned hunting catching wild fish and putting them in a mud puddle to be caught betted on and then thrown in a dumpster just aint right stay away from pay lakes please Go to Brookville

So what politician is stopping the implementation of regulations concerning this problem.

We are working on this right now we going through the DNR Rule making Process My self the Only answer is a complete ban on CF but as of now to ask for that would start the Process All over again

Are Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois on board? Doesn't seen like it would do much good if the states we share the rivers with don't follow suit.

Ohio, West Va.,Penn. Have NO CF , KY Has no regs and unlimited licence Regs passed went into Law and the CF filed an injunction and as of now they cant be enforced Ill. is just like KY pretty much No Regs

So basically it's a "free-for-all". This fight has been going on forever, with no end in sight. Sad.....
