I just purchased a 10 ft plastic Pelican from my father in law. He told me it didn't need registered. I want to take my Son fishing but want to follow the law. Is this correct ? I tried to read the Indiana boating laws but didn't see anything that covered this question. Thanks for your guidance.

If you dont put a motor on it you dont have to register it but if you put any kind of motor including electric it must be registered. h.h.

Also, some DNR managed waters also require the "non motorized" lake access sticker on the boat.

FWA's don't require

State Forests do require this sticker

There is a motorized and non-motorized sticker available.
