Pere Marquette in Muchigan. We ended up with 3 browns, 3 steelhead, the one coho and 2 kings in the net and lost 5

Man that almost looks like more fun than deer hunting.
I went to the UP of michigan in september for the 1st time in 20 years... Killed 4 pound smallmouth for a week. It was hard to leave

You walking spawn?

No. We went to fly fish coho with bright streamers or egg beads. But, the water was very dark and up about 12 inches with almost a 60 percent increased flow. So, we ended up leaving the fly rods in the tubes and went with gold hot n tots and huge bright pink feathered jigs. Hated to sell out on the fly rods but it was the right decision. By Wed of next week the water should be perfect. Going back soon with the fly rods in the middle fly water for steelhead.

I have never been fishing there but get up for work, so would be awesome to get some fishing in while up there this fall or next spring

We fish the Pere Marquette east of Ludington. About 20 miles east is a town named Baldwin and the fly fishing only water starts there and runs downstream a few miles. But, further downstream towards Walhalla there is a lot of public, national forest walkin in and you can fish whatever you wish. My wife caught the coho and I landed a king about half way between lower branch and Walhalla bridge right where there is walk in from the north side of the river and there were two gentlemen fishing within sight of us when we landed the two fish there. The steelhead should spawn in April. Earlier if the weather warms up.
